On this course, you will study a wide range of subjects from Mechanical Engineering to manufacturing.

This course provides the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to progress within the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Discipline.

Entry requirements

  • National 5 at minimum grade C (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and a Technical subject. 
  • Successful completion of Performing Engineering Operations Qualification and satisfactory completion of an aptitude test. 

Mature applicants without the necessary minimum qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.

Progressing students will learn from their course tutor is they require to attend a Bridge to Engineering course on the week of 10th-13th June full-time.

Direct entry students will undergo an aptitude test and will learn during interview if they require to attend a Bridge to Engineering course on the week of 10th-13th June full-time.

  • Where will it lead

    Education:The course can take you onto our HNC in Engineering.

    Employment: Engineering apprenticeship or employment in the manufacturing or service sector.  

Interview arrangements

  • Group interview 
  • Short Skills Test which will cover basic literacy and numeracy as well as practical skills
