This practical, hands-on course provides training in all aspects of electrical installations.

End date – January 2027

Duration - 6 months

On this course, you will learn how to safely install, test, connect, and maintain electrical systems while preparing for a career as an electrician and working within the electrical workshops, using industry standard tools and equipment to carry out electrical project work.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold at least one of the following:

  • National 4 Mathematics, or
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in a related subject

It is preferable applicant also have one of the following:

  • National 4 Physics

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

    Where will this course lead?

    Progression will lead onto, our level 5 electrical install course, SECTT pre-apprenticeship course or an apprenticeship.

The interview involves a practical skills test and a group interview. You will need to bring copies of your previous qualifications on the day.
