This course gives students basic knowledge and skills for moving on to level 6 study and/or an apprenticeship in the early learning and childcare sector.

    • Values and principles
    • Human behaviour
    • Social influences

    You also have the chance to gain the Skills for Work early learning and childcare award.

Entry requirements

  • Three National 4 qualifications at grade C or above, one of which must be English

We welcome applications from people with relevant life and work experience.

An Enhanced Disclosure Scotland application is required which you will do through the college if offered a place.

  • Where it leads

    Education: childhood practice level 6 or other level 6 courses at West Lothian College.

Interview arrangements

If we invite you for an interview, plan to be in college for around two hours. The interview consists of:
