This course is for those wanting to fast-track to HNC beauty therapy or to progress from NC level 5 beauty therapy into the beauty therapy industry.

  • What the course includes

    The course covers the skills relevant for work in the beauty industry including:

    • Eyelash and eyebrow tinting
    • Manicure and pedicure
    • Waxing
    • Facial
    • Body massage
    • Anatomy and physiology

You will learn in a realistic salon environment; and hear guest speakers from the industry.

Entry requirements

  • At least three National 5s (including English) or equivalent, or beauty care and make-up level 5
  • You must be 16 years or over by the course start date
  • ESOL Level 5 if required 

You should also be motivated, enthusiastic and interested in the beauty therapy industry.

We welcome applications from mature returners, including those who lack formal qualifications or who wish to change career direction.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where it leads

    Education: HNC beauty therapy.

    Employment: qualified beauty therapist working as an employee within the industry, or self-employed.

Interview arrangements

If you are selected for interview, we will send you an interview date by email. You should plan to be in college for about three hours.

The interview involves:

  • Welcome and course information
  • Individual interview
  • Written task
