The Scottish Government is dedicated to diversifying the workforce and this includes recruiting more men into a career in Early Learning and Childcare. This is a great time to join a career pathway that is rewarding and exciting.
Over the 12 weeks you will cover units on Child Development and Play. You will gain an insight into the development of children from birth and learn about the factors that impact on a child’s development. You will also learn about the importance of play on a child’s learning and development and how learning outdoors benefits children’s health and wellbeing.
There are no formal entry requirements but applicants should have an interest in childcare.
On successful completion of the course you will be offered an interview for the HNC Childhood Practice. The HNC Childhood Practice is offered full time or part time in the evening to fit around employment commitments.
There is no formal interview. All applicants will have an opportunity to meet with tutors to discuss the course and career pathways prior to starting.
