INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

This City and Guilds course is for those thinking about a career in construction. It is an ideal course for school leavers to develop skills such as plumbing, tiling, electrical installation, brickwork, decorative painting, carpentry and joinery. It includes classroom and workshop-based activities and supports students on to further study or employment.

    You will develop skills and knowledge in various disciplines within the construction industry, including practical skills in a workshop environment.

Entry requirements

  • National 3 mathematics, English and a technical/science subject
  • Interest in construction and willingness to learn
  • Where this course leads

    Education: National Progression Award (NPA) construction or any SCQF level 5 courses in engineering, construction and motor vehicle at West Lothian College.

Interview arrangements

The interview involves a practical skills test and a group interview. You will need to bring copies of your previous qualifications on the day.
