Introduction to Construction is a fast track programme designed to build your employability skills, develop your practical skills and prepare you for the job market, or to move on to further study at college or to an apprenticeship within the construction industry.

The course aims to help you become more confident and independent in your learning, support you to plan for your next step in a construction career and allow you to gain skills and experience to move into the construction industry.

This course is ideal for those who studied on our Bridge to Construction programme.

  • What the course includes

    You will work towards completion of a City and Guilds award and develop:

    Communication, numeracy, ICT skills

    Social skills

    Team building skills

    Workplace safety

    CV, interviewing and job seeking skills

    Practical construction skills

Entry requirements

National 3 mathematics, English and a technical/practical subject

Interest in construction and willingness to learn

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
