INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE LEVEL 4

This course is suited to those thinking about a career in construction.

It is an ideal course for school leavers to develop various construction-based skills, with a focus on designing and manufacturing products and developing cross over skills that can be used throughout the construction industry.

It includes classroom and workshop-based activities and supports students on to further study or employment.

Days:Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 
Times: Tuesday 9am - 12pm and Monday & Wednesday 9am - 4pm 
Duration:18 weeks 

  • What the course includes

    You will develop skills and knowledge across various disciplines within the construction industry, including practical skills in a workshop environment. This will give you the a very good overall insight to some of the skills required across the construction sector.

Entry requirements

  • National 3 mathematics, English and a technical/science subject
  • Interest in construction and willingness to learn 

    If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course. 
  • Where it leads

    National Progression Award (NPA) construction or any SCQF level 5 courses in engineering, construction and automotive at West Lothian College.

The interview involves a practical skills test and a group interview. You will need to bring copies of your previous qualifications on the day.
