INTRODUCTION TO BARBERING

This is an excellent course for students to learn the basic skills necessary to progress onto a barbering course. 

Start date: 31 August 2020
Day of week: Monday
Time: 6pm–9pm
Duration: 24 weeks
Cost: £250 (ITA funding may be available) + £160 for kit - £20 non-refundable deposit for kit (to be paid at Salon once student has applied and paid for the course)

Kit can be purchased from Platinum Salon on the night the course commences. Students should supply their own tunic.

  • What the course includes

    Students will be taught:

    • Client preparation
    • Safe hygiene procedures
    • How to perform basic gents' haircut incorporating clipper work or razor cutting
    • How to give aftercare advice
    • The health and safety requirements of preparing, maintaining and using electrical clippers

Entry Requirments

  • There are no formal entry requirements, but an interest in the subject is essential
  • If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence that you have achieved ESOL National 5 (or equivalent)
  • You will need to provide your own tunic, however this can be any style or colour
