Intro to Electrical Engineering (Jan)

Electrical engineers and electricians are in great demand. This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge for those who want to become fully-qualified electricians or electrical technicians/engineers or progress to further study in this field. This course will provided additional knowledge and skills to those who have completed a SECTT Pre App Course previously.

  • What the course includes

    The course includes:

    • Wiring electrical installations, such as lighting circuits and ring mains, in our electrical workshop
    • Electrical theory
    • Health and safety
    • Working with others
    • Preparation for entry to an apprenticeship or further study

This course will provide a pathway, and enhance skills to help students gain an apprenticeship as an electrician or electrical engineer, but also provide the relevant skills and knowledge to progress with further study in this field, such as NC electrical engineering level 6

Entry requirements

  • Minimum: relevant National 4 qualifications or
  • Successful SECTT Pre-App

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

    Education: Modern Apprenticeship to eventually become a fully-qualified electrician; electrical engineering course at a more advanced level.
