Successful completion of this course allows students to register with SSSC at Practitioner level and to consider further study at Level 9.

    What the course includes

    This course includes applied sociology and applied psychology. Students will learn about leadership and team-working, assessment planning, supporting and managing the protection of individuals and policy to practice.

Entry Requirements

  • HNC Childhood Practice or HNC Early Education and Childcare or
  • SVQ 3 Social Services: Children and Young People or CCLD or Playwork or equivalent
  • Applicants must be employed within Childhood Practice sector
  • Applicants require 120 SCQF credits at Level 7 and 8 prior to starting the course
  • Where it leads


    • Further study at SCQF Level 9 required by SSSC for managers in the sector


    • Enhanced employment opportunities
