Entry Requirements

  • HNC Childhood Practice, HNC Early Education and Childcare or SVQ3 CCLD
    or Playwork or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be employed within Childhood Practice sector.
  • Candidates require 120 SCQF credits at Level 7 and 8 prior to commencing the course

    Successful completion of this 2 year course allows the candidate to register with SSSC at Practitioner level and to consider further study at Level 9.

Individual Training Account funding has now been closed to new Applicants as of 7th December 2018. Applicants should be able to apply again from April 2019, subject to Skills Development Scotland making new funds available. What options do I have for paying my course fees?

West Lothian College accept payment in full for all part time courses by Cash, Card, Bank Transfer or Cheque.


In response to the unforeseen withdrawal of ITA funding, West Lothian College have put in place an option for students to pay their course fees by instalments. This can be discussed with our Student Advice team at the time of your enrolment, and they will explain all the options and terms and conditions to you.
