This is year 2 of a two-year course and is intended for students who have completed year 1 and are wanting to pursue a career in the Engineering industry at Technician or Engineer level and covers a wide range of engineering subjects from various engineering disciplines.

The aim of the course is to give individuals an all-round understanding of how modern engineering systems work and, in doing so, considers the various sub-elements, such as the mechanical, electrical, electronic and control parts of the system, which, when working together, provides the performance we now expect from everything from a mobile phone to a car to a factory production line.
You’ll learn how today's engineering systems work and contribute to modern life through a focus on practical applications. Engineers are often expected to know about all aspects of an engineering system (mechanical, electrical and so on) and this course offers the mix of skills that many employers and companies want.
If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
Employment as an Engineering Technician or study at HND/ Degree level
No interview is required for this course as it is progression from year 1.
