HNC ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING EVENING YEAR 2

This course is for those wanting to pursue a career in electrical engineering at technician level. If you already have work experience, this course will widen your understanding about engineering and will allow you to become more employable/allow for career progression in your current employment.

Cost: £780 per year

Covering all aspects of electrical engineering, this course includes inspect and test and three phase systems and graded unit.

Entry Requirements

  • Year 1 HNC Electrical Engineering (completed)
  • NC in Engineering 
  • Higher Maths 
  • Higher Physics 
  • Relevant industrial experience

    Education: HND, Degree-level of study.  

    You may be able to gain direct entry to year 2 of a degree course once you complete your HNC. 

    Past students have progressed onto further study at Napier, Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Strathclyde University some of top universities in Scotland specialising in –Electrical Engineering, Energy and Environmental Engineering and Engineering with Management. (Electrical Engineering).

    Employment: Graduate apprenticeship to qualify at technician level; foundation for engineering and technical jobs, including design, manufacture, servicing, maintaining and testing complex engineering systems.  

    Past students have found employment with companies such as West Lothian Council, Plexus, Mitsubishi, JBT, Volvo, Click Netherfield and Babcock.

This is progression from Year 1 so no interviews are carried out.
