It’s a common fact that becoming more independent is crucial for personal growth and development, self-sufficiency, creativity, and happiness. This course is for those who have been in supported learning at school and are embarking on the journey of navigating their way to independence. This course is ideal for those who want to develop personally and consider their opportunities and next steps.  

Days of study: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

    What the course includes

    Students engaging on this course will work in small groups to achieve set tasks including working with others across college on projects set. During this time you will develop your practical skills, understand the importance of health and wellbeing, understand positive relationship building and develop an understanding of employability.

Why choose this course

You will learn skills for living independently and with support. You will also get the chance to engage with other activities across college and with external speakers. Your lecturers will work with you to enhance your skills and identify areas you are interested in.

The college works closely with all secondary schools in West Lothian and staff in school will advise you when the transition period has been agreed for your school. If you are a school pupil speak to staff in school about what’s on offer at college.
