    The Diploma in Information Security at SCQF levels 6 covers;

    • principles and purpose of information governance
    • threats to information security
    • how to manage and assess risks to information, and
    • health and safety procedures applicable to learners' job roles within the IT sector

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

Entry requirements

  • Candidates must be in a work place where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of 3 months experience in this sector is required.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
