    • developing meta-skills and personal professionalism
    • managing data assets
    • planning data analysis
    • locating and accessing data sources
    • transforming data for analysis
    • analysing data
    • visualising and communicating data, and
    • implementing machine learning models

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

Entry requirements

  • Candidates must be in a work place where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of 3 months experience in this sector is required.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where will it lead?

    The level 8 award could provide progression to:

    • an HNC/HND in Computing or a related area
    • a PDA in a computing related discipline
    • degree-level study at a higher education institution
    • employment in the digital sector
