This introductory course is designed to give you the skills to support career opportunities into a multi-disciplined industry. The course focuses on the basic construction skills and techniques which support development of your practical skills and help build strong employability skills. This course is base around wall insulation to help make homes efficient.

The construction focus within the 18-week programme will include basic carpentry and joinery skills leading to developing further practical skills and knowledge working on external wall insulation: installation and finishing techniques.

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday

Entry requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals with an enthusiasm in developing a career in the construction industry.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

    Education: Lead to further development of a career in Construction on a wide range of courses

    Apprenticeship Apprenticeship training in External Wall Insulation or other appropriate construction disciplines

Interview arrangements

The interview involves a practical skills test and a group interview. You will need to bring copies of your previous qualifications on the day.
