Bridge to Construction is an 18-week programme designed to build your employability skills, develop your practical skills and prepare you for the job market, or to move on to further study at college or to an apprenticeship within the construction industry.

The course aims to help you become more confident and independent in your learning, support you to plan for your next step in a construction career and allow you to gain skills and experience to move into the construction industry.

    What the course includes

    You will work towards completion of a City and Guilds award and develop:

    • Communication, numeracy, ICT skills
    • Team building skills
    • Workplace safety
    • Practical construction skills
    • An increased awareness of environmental concerns in construction

The course will give you the opportunities to learn outside the classroom to become confident in directing your own learning as well as develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge of the construction industry.

Entry requirements

  • National 3 mathematics, English and a technical/practical subject
  • Interest in construction and willingness to learn

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
