BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented)

These courses aim to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Vented and Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards. There are two distinct manuals, one for England/Wales and one for Scotland, as some regulations differ north of the border.

 

The manual for England/Wales covers Approved Document G3, Part L1 and Part P of the Building Regulations, while the one for Scotland references Part J of the Building Standards.

  • Why choose this course

    This course is for plumbing and heating engineers who want to install Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems, and will demonstrate their competence so they can either join a Competent Persons’ Scheme allowing the self-certification of installations, or to notify the local Building Control department prior to commencing work

Entry Requirements

  • Trainees must hold a recognised trade qualification (e.g. NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or Domestic Heating)
  • OR be working towards one

OR have evidence of a number of years of experience in the plumbing or heating industry.

  • Where it leads?

    Depending on their existing skills and qualifications, candidates may want to progress to either the Full or Defined Scope courses (for example, heating engineers could undertake the full Solar Thermal Hot Water course, or architects the Defined Scope Solar Thermal Hot Water course).

    After completing this course you will be able to gain business in the renewable energy sector installing Solar Thermal heating systems.
