BPEC Domestic Air Source Heat Pump and Domestic Ground Source Heat Pump

This course is designed to give installers the skills and knowledge required to correctly install domestic heat pumps and designed with the intention of meeting the requirement of the National Occupational Standards and industry working groups. During this course you will learn about both Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) and the technology that allows them to operate.

This course includes all aspects of air source and ground source heat pump design principles, installation and commissioning techniques of both air and ground heat pump systems, and both theory and practical content.

Entry Requirements

  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation (Industrial or Commercial Installation) or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • N/SVQ L3v3l 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • Heating installers with a minimum 3 years experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS, or HETAS registration
