Beauty Therapy

The beauty therapy industry is expanding to respond to new beauty trends and treatments. The growing demand from consumers is creating opportunities for skilled beauty therapists and specialists.

We offer beauty therapy courses from Levels 4 to 8 (HND) to prepare you for employment within this industry.

We have excellent links with local employers and related organisations, which means students learn directly from specialists in the industry. Previous beauty therapy students have benefited from sessions with Ellisons, Eve Taylor and spa days and placements with Norton House, Kohler Waters Spa at Old Course Hotel St Andrews and Apex Hotels With many students gaining employment from these experiences.

Learning happens everywhere, not just in classrooms. We take our students on visits to the Scottish Beauty Show to see demonstrations of the latest treatments and products. Our students also get the opportunity to compete all over the UK in World Skills and Association of Hairdressers & Therapists (AHT) competitions.

Careers in Beauty Therapy

A career in beauty therapy is varied, with opportunities to work in different settings and specialisms. There are many people working as beauty therapists in Scotland, with many running their own businesses. All of last year’s HND beauty therapy students have progressed into employment after completing their course.

Our courses will give you the knowledge, skills, experience and networks to find your place within the industry. The courses will provide you with up-to-date training in the latest techniques providing you with the therapeutic skill-set required to advance in this exciting ever evolving industry.

They can take you into positions such as beauty therapist or specialist in settings such as retail, beauty salon, cruise ship or hotel spa. You can choose to specialise in areas such as skincare and facials, massage and eye enhancements.
