This course is a good choice for adults looking to return to education after a break of three or more years or 5 years if you already hold SCQF level 6 or HN qualifications. It is designed to give you the knowledge, core skills and confidence to progress onto a degree course in primary/secondary teaching, social work, humanities or community education.

You will gain knowledge and expertise in subjects including psychology, communication, literature, maths, sociology, child and human development, RMPS and Philosophy.


You will have the opportunity to undertake Workplace Experience so you can develop industry-relevant abilities.


•Although no formal qualifications are required, entry is by interview.

•You will need to take a brief pre-entry test to help ascertain your levels of literacy, numeracy and ability to cope with the demands of the course.

Education: Possible progression to an HNC/HND or year one of a degree level course.

If you are invited for an interview for this course, the instructions are below:

Please expect to be in college for around three hours and applicants are required to bring evidence of their qualifications, and/or employment references if available. Individual interviews will be held with two members of staff and timeslots will be allocated on the day.
