Lisa Alexander HNC Childhood Practice
Lisa Alexander was a duty manager in retail when she decided to pursue a career in Childcare by enrolling at West Lothian College.
Lisa originally studied PDA Education Support Assistant within the Childhood Practice Centre at the College before progressing onto and completing an HNC in Childhood Practice. Lisa is currently working towards an HND in Childhood Practice.
Lisa is a fantastic example of how students can progress at West Lothian College. Lisa, who lives in Grangemouth, is not only still studying at the College, she has been employed by one of her work placement providers giving her valuable industry experience in a local authority nursery. Lisa is quick to acknowledge the role played by West Lothian College in ensuring she was work ready:
“All of my placements were positive experiences and I really enjoyed working with other partners through the College such as supporting the primary school children who came to do outdoor learning as well as supporting the college stand at Party at the Palace.”
“I would highly recommend the college to people thinking of attending college but are unsure about making that step. West Lothian College is very well organised with staff that fully support the students in every way possible.“
