Dean Anderson, NPA Construction

Dean Anderson originally applied for the Pre Apprenticeship Carpentry and Joinery course at West Lothian College however after a chat with the teaching staff Dean decided that the NPA construction course would allow him to gain more experience.

"It was definitely the right decision to study the NPA" Dean explains

"The NPA  will give me the experience I need to move onto the Pre Apprenticeship course. It means that when i start I will have a year of study behind me and I will have also gained a lot of knowledge by that point.

"

Dean who lives in Edinburgh hopes the knowledge he will take from his current course into the Pre Apprenticeship will steer him on the right path to eventually becoming a fully qualified joiner but in the meantime he is enjoying being a student at West Lothian College.

"It's hard work but it is always a good laugh. The atmosphere is pretty good and you get to work alongside your mates."

Dean offered this advice to those thinking about applying for a course at West Lothian College.

" Apply early so you have a chance to prepare for things,"
