Cheryl Dow NQ Access to Teaching (SWAP)

NQ Access to teaching (SWAP) is a hugely popular course at West Lothian College. The course is for adults who want to return to education after a break of three or more years. It is designed to help students progress to a degree course in primary/secondary teaching and other subjects.  

“Obviously I had concerns before the course started but the staff at the college soon put any doubts I had at ease. Everyone is so supportive and it’s great to be able to study in such a good environment.” 

The course contains a work experience aspect giving students the chance of work experience in a primary or secondary school with a view to developing a career in teaching. This unit plays a vital part in preparing students for the next step whether that be further or study or employment within the sector.
