Cheryl Dow NQ Access to Teaching (SWAP)
Cheryl Dow is one of many students choosing to return to education after a break. She is studying the NQ Access to teaching (SWAP) at West Lothian College.
NQ Access to teaching (SWAP) is a hugely popular course at West Lothian College. The course is for adults who want to return to education after a break of three or more years. It is designed to help students progress to a degree course in primary/secondary teaching and other subjects.
“Obviously I had concerns before the course started but the staff at the college soon put any doubts I had at ease. Everyone is so supportive and it’s great to be able to study in such a good environment.”
The course contains a work experience aspect giving students the chance of work experience in a primary or secondary school with a view to developing a career in teaching. This unit plays a vital part in preparing students for the next step whether that be further or study or employment within the sector.
Cheryl is making the very most of the opportunities which have been made available to her through studying at West Lothian College and is quick to urge others to do the same.
“I would definitely recommend this course to others. As long as you are prepared to put the work in the rewards available to you are endless.”
