Student representation

The Student Representative Committee (SRC) is made up of class and group representatives and it provides an opportunity for class reps to organise social, sporting and charitable events.

The SRC has the potential to be an important organisation, it's a forum where various issues can be addressed, and it provides a collective voice for students. It can consider social and welfare issues, and promote an environment that complements the learning experience and activities of the student population.

The SRC is also a good opportunity for students to gain experience in committee work, organising meetings and addressing important issues - all good for the CV!

At the start of your programme you are asked to nominate class representatives, and put forward nominations for Office-bearers. This results in us electing a President who serves on the College Board of Management.

The College has applied for affiliation (on behalf of the SRC) to the National Union of Students (NUS); this provides various entitlements such as student representation, discount cards and advice and support.

The SRC is organised by Lorna Jenkins, Access and Support Service Leader. If you wish to become involved in the SRC or would like to discuss any of the above, you can make an appointment to speak to Lorna by visiting the Reception desk in the 'Hub' or by telephoning 01506 427610.
