Student Charter
The Student Charter for West Lothian College provides you with a guide to the services available to all students and informs you of your entitlement as a student. As a student of West Lothian College you are entitled to:
- be treated with respect and to have access to the full range of College facilities
- receive information on all relevant College programmes and facilities on request
- receive information on bursaries, grants, student loans, fees, attendance patterns and details of how to apply for a College programme
- have initial and continuing guidance and support throughout your programme of study
- induction relevant to your chosen programme of study
- a programme of learning which recognises your individual requirements and/or those of your sponsor/employer
- have prior learning acknowledged and given positive value through accreditation
- receive details of opportunities of progression to employment or further study
- receive regular constructive feedback about your performance, progress and achievement
- be actively involved in your own learning process
- have the opportunity of certification if relevant to your programme of study
- be supported by suitably qualified, competent staff
- receive quality learning materials appropriate to your programme of study
- have access to an environment conducive to learning and which meets Health and Safety requirements
- have the right of appeal about judgements made relating to your performance
- use the College complaints procedure if you have any concerns about your College experience
- have the opportunity to evaluate your learning programme and your College experience.
