SVQ Level 3 Hairdressing

This course is designed to meet current industry standards and trends. You will be part of the Platinum Salon and Spa, delivering a professional service to both internal and external clients. Alongside the commercial salon you will gain retail experience in the Platinum Point shop.
Duration
One academic year. There is a twilight class included within the course which you must attend.
Aim
You will gain knowledge and expertise in creative cutting, colour corrective, Balmain hair extensions including a full day’s training with Balmain educators leading to a certificate. You will also gain invaluable retail experience, promoting products and services and learn how to style long hair.
Opportunities
Salon visits, professional guest artists and seminars within West Lothian College, other colleges and professional bodies.
Entry
- Level 2 qualification in hairdressing.
- Excellent level of personal presentation.
For those about to leave school you will not currently be able to apply online and you should ask your guidance teacher for an appliction form.
Prospects
Education: Possible progression to HNC Hairdressing.
Employment: Working in a Salon/self employment (Industry Technician)
