NQ Intermediate 2 Early Education and Childcare
SCQF Level: 5
Equipping you with the key knowledge and skills you require to pursue a professional career in childcare.
Duration
One academic year.
Aim
You will gain expertise and a deeper understanding of how to teach and care for children in subjects including child development, first aid, child health and play.
Opportunities
The course includes opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through work experience in a variety of settings.
Entry
- English at Intermediate 1 or Standard Grade General level.
- Two other subjects at General level.
- Entry is by interview where a written piece will be requested.
For those about to leave school you will not currently be able to apply online and you should ask your guidance teacher for an appliction form.
Prospects
Education: Possible progression to NQ Higher Early Education and Childcare or other NQ Higher level courses within the Centre.
Employment: Work in a private nursery if you have, or are willing to work towards, relevant SVQ units.
