NC Beauty Care
SCQF Level: 6
This course offers you an industry standard qualification and provides introduction to the theory and practice of beauty therapy.
Duration
One academic year. There is a twilight class included within the course which you must attend.
Aim
You will gain knowledge and expertise in beauty therapy techniques including manicure, pedicure, face and body massage, waxing, facial care, face and body electrotherapy. You will also gain reception and salon experience whilst working with a wide range of customers.
Opportunities
The College has a state-of-the-art Platinum Salon and Spa, providing an exciting, busy and realistic work environment.
Entry
- Communication and a science subject at Intermediate 2 would be advantageous. A mature attitude and excellent personal presentation.
- Mature students without formal qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
For those about to leave school you will not currently be able to apply online and you should ask your guidance teacher for an appliction form.
Prospects
Education: Possible progression to HNC Beauty Therapy.
Employment: Various opportunities including assisting in a salon or spa or working in retail sales.
