HND Beauty Therapy

This course will develop and enhance the skills and expertise gained at HNC level. This HND includes core and optional diploma level Units.
Duration
One academic year.
Aim
You will have the opportunity to increase your portfolio to include research, contemporary electrotherapy, holistic therapies and spa treatments. You will expand your existing knowledge and expertise in the practice and theory of Beauty Therapy.
Opportunities
You will gain excellent, comprehensive experience working in a realistic commercial environment in our state of the art Platinum Salon and Spa. You will play a significant role in the running of the salon, where current treatments include microdermabrasion, spray tanning, hot stone therapy and spa treatments.

For those about to leave school you will not currently be able to apply online and you should ask your guidance teacher for an appliction form.
Prospects
Education: Possible progression to degree level in a related subject e.g. aromatherapy.
Employment: There are many new and interesting career paths available to qualified therapists. You may want to work as a therapist in a beauty salon or health spa, on a cruise liner or in beauty retail and promotions. You could also become an educator/trainer, a self-employed therapist or a supervisor or manager in beauty marketing.
