HNC Beauty Therapy
SCQF Level: 7
This course allows you to gain the key skills and knowledge you require to work in the beauty industry as a qualified therapist.
Duration
One academic year. There is a twilight class included within the course which you must attend.
Aim
Spa treatments form an integral part of the course. There are also opportunities to gain expertise in facial therapies, body therapies, advanced electrical treatments, salon and retail operations.
Opportunities
You will gain excellent, comprehensive experience working in a realistic commercial environment in the College’s state-of-the-art Platinum Salon and Spa.
There may be the opportunity to carry out additional specialist training, for example Artdeco make-up, Minx nails and spray tanning.
Entry
- NC Beauty Care or equivalent.
- Focus, commitment and excellent communication skills.
- A professional appearance.
For those about to leave school you will not currently be able to apply online and you should ask your guidance teacher for an appliction form.
Prospects
Education: Possible progression to an HND in Beauty Therapy and to degree level in a related subject e.g. aromatherapy.
Employment: There are many new and interesting career paths available to qualified therapists. You may want to work as a therapist in a beauty salon, health spa or in beauty retail and promotions. You may also consider becoming self-employed as a therapist.
