Food Technology Education

We are now offering the HNC in Food Science and Technology on a part-time basis. This course offers the chance of a rewarding career as a food scientist or technologist working in the food and drink industry.

 The course has 15 different units, only 12 are needed to achieve the HNC qualification. Each Unit is free-standing and candidates can study one or more units to gain a certificate. The unit(s) can be selected to suit the employer and the candidate.

Food Industry Principles: An Introduction

Food Industry Practices: An Introduction

Food Manufacturing: Processing Practices at Sub-Ambient Temperatures

Food Manufacturing: Processing Practices at Ambient Temperatures

Food Manufacturing: Processing Practices at Elevated Temperatures

Microbiology of Foods 1

Food Composition

Food Hygiene Intermediate

Graded Unit 1

Science for the Food Industry: An Introduction

Food Analysis

Microbiology of Foods 2

Work Experience

Legislation and the Food Industry

Business Management: An Introduction

Attendance of this course will be flexible in order to suit employers and their staff.

Those already working in the food and drink industry looking to add to your qualifications, completing individual units from this award will allow learners to work towards an HNC.
